UVA-Wise Men Gain First AAC Tennis Victory

Bristol, TN – The UVA-Wise men’s tennis team gained its first Appalachian Athletic Conference victory Thursday over King College, 6-3, as Chris Kostic and Wes Sturgill guided the effort.
The Highland Cavaliers went to 2-7 and 1-3 in the conference. King is now 0-6 and 0-5 in the league.
Kostic and Sturgill had top days with two wins apiece including teaming up for an 8-1 third doubles victory. Kostic had a 6-3, 6-3 third singles win and Sturgill garnered a 6-4, 6-0 sixth singles victory. Henning Kuich was the other double victor by taking the top singles and teaming with Derick Wood in the first doubles.
UVA-Wise will play Milligan College at ETSU’s Mini Dome on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
