Nationally-Ranked Union Tennis Blanks UVa-Wise Tennis

Barbourville, Ky. – Union College’s nationally-ranked tennis teams blanked UVa-Wise by 9-0 scores in Appalachian Athletic Conference Saturday action.

Rhyssa Philipp held her own for the Lady Cavs (1-4/0-2 AAC) in falling 3-6, 3-6 at second singles. Autumn Lauzon took three games at the top singles (2-6, 1-6) from the 19 th-ranked Lady Bulldogs.

Robert Bareford and Daniel Robinson amassed the lone single games wins of the two sets against the 14 th-rated Bulldogs.

Both UVa-Wise tennis teams will host Southern Virginia next Friday, March 28 starting at 3:00 p.m.
