Kuich Posts Lone Win as UVa-Wise Falls to Mars Hill

Wise, Va. – Henning Kuich picked up where he left off a year ago with an impressive season opening straight sets win but UVa-Wise could not manage another victory to fall to NCAA Division II Mars Hill on Monday afternoon.

Kuich, a senior from Hamburg, Germany, posted an impressive 10-1 singles record last spring and took care of the Lions’ John Allen by scores of 6-2 and 6-2.

Mars Hill was able to sweep the doubles action and the other five singles bouts for an 8-1 victory.

UVa-Wise (0-1) returns to action on Saturday afternoon, March 1 st at Tusculum College starting at 12:00 p.m.
