Union Stops UVa-Wise Win Streak at Six

Barbourville, KY - Union College stopped The University of Virginia's College at Wise women's tennis team win streak at six matches by taking a close 5-4 match on Saturday.
The Lady Bulldogs took over sole possession of first place in the Appalachian Athletic Conference at 4-0 and 9-1 overall. The Lady Cavs drop to 3-1 in the league and 6-4 for the season.
After dropping two of the three singles matches, UVa-Wise won the fourth, fifth and sixth singles as Nicole Pilkenton, Rhyssa Philipp and Audra Fritz. Union was able to claim key three set victories in the second and third singles to edge past its visitors 5-4.
UVa-Wise will return to the court on Sunday afternoon when it hosts Brevard College Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
