Lady Cavs Tennis Defeat VI & Tn. Wesleyan, Move to AAC Championship

Johnson City, TN – Appalachian Athletic Conference regular season champion Union College proved too much for UVA-Wise in the league championship by taking the match 5-2.

The defeat for the Lady Cavs (13-5) does not mean the end of their 2007 campaign. By virtue of its runner-up finish in both the regular season and tournament, UVA-Wise will move on to play in its fourth-straight NAIA Region XII championships. The championships will be played at Berea College in Berea, KY on May 4th and 5th.

Rhyssa Philipp and Kyndall Wininger won the lone doubles match 8-6 at the third spot while Davina Dishner received a win in a match where Paola Gamarra retired since the outcome of the team results were decided.
