Lady Cavs Tennis Bounces Back with Shutout of Va. Intermont

Wise, VA – After falling out of first, the Lady Cavs’ tennis team bounced back in a big way with a 9-0 shutout of Appalachian Athletic Conference rival Virginia Intermont Tuesday afternoon. Audra Fritz and Rhyssa Philipp breezed to individual blanking of their singles matches to pace UVA-Wise.

UVA-Wise goes to 8-4 and 3-1 in the AAC while Va. Intermont stayed winless at 0-7 and 0-4 in the conference.

Fritz and Philipp posted 6-0, 6-0 victories at the fifth and sixth singles. Kelsey Adkins and Kyndall Wininger posted an 8-0 win at the third singles while Davina Dishner, Autumn Lauzon, Laura King and Nicole Pilkenton all had two victories for the day.

The Lady Cavs will next host the Lady Bears of Pikeville College Thursday afternoon starting at 5:00 p.m.
