Lauzon and Philipp Highlight UVa-Wise Women’s Tennis Awards

Johnson City, Tenn. – Senior Autumn Lauzon and Rhyssa Philipp highlighted the UVa-Wise women’s tennis Appalachian Athletic Conference awardees. Lauzon was named to the All-AAC team and the Lady Cavs’ Individual Champion of Character while Philipp earned All-AAC Honorable Mention.

Lauzon, the top singles player all year, posted a 6-4 record for the season. The Bristol, Va. native also was part of doubles teams which won five matches.

Philipp recorded a 5-5 mark as the Lady Cavs’ second singles spot. The Lynchburg, Va. product had a 7-5 mark in doubles with three different teammates combinations.

Junior Beth Dye’s hard work in the classroom placed her on the Academic All-AAC team. Dye of Honaker, Va. won three singles matches and went 5-5 in doubles play over her first year with the squad.
