Tornado Clips Lady Cavs Tennis

Wise, Va. – King College clipped UVa-Wise by a narrow 5-4 score in women’s tennis on Tuesday afternoon. The Tornado captured the all important three set super tiebreaker in fifth singles to take the deciding match.

The Lady Cavs (1-3/0-1 Appalachian Athletic Conference) received victories in the top two singles slots from Autumn Lauzon and Rhyssa Philipp. Sophomore Carrie Howard grabbed the other singles win at sixth singles. Philipp and Kelsey Adkins garnered an 8-3 second doubles win.

UVa-Wise will next host Lincoln Memorial on Thursday afternoon at 3:00 p.m.
