Viers and Salyer Power Spikers Past Pikeville

WISE, VA -­ T he University of Virginia’s College at Wise women’s volleyball team triumphed at home over Bryan College, 3-1. The Lady Cavs triumphed over the Lady Lions with games of 30-25, 30-24, 30-19.

UVa-Wise showed solid defensive play throughout the first game, taking an early lead and finished the game 30-25. Lady Cavs held a steady lead in the second game with a final score of 30-24.

The final game had both solid defensive and offensive play for UVA-Wise. Lady Cavs were dominate holding the Lady Lions back 30-19.

Natasha Viers (Abingdon, VA) lead UVA-Wise with 13 kills and three blocks while Kate Daub (Williamsburg, VA) posted 12 kills and Whitney Lane (Norton, VA) posted 12 kills and three blocks. Davina Dishner had 42 assists while Cara Hamilton had 18 digs and six aces.

UVA-Wise will be hosting Tennessee Wesleyan at 10:30 a.m. and Covenant College at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday September 24.
