UVa-Wise Spikers Go Distance for Win at Bryan

Dayton, TN – After falling in five games without three key players Wednesday night, the University of Virginia’s College at Wise rebounded by going to distance Friday night to defeat Bryan College. The Lady Cavs took care of the Lady Lions, 3-2, by taking the fifth game 15-11 to win the Appalachian Athletic Conference affair after splitting the first four games 28-30, 30-18, 24-30, 30-21.
UVa-Wise improves to 8-3 in the AAC to stay within two games of conference leading Brevard College. The Lady Cavs go to 11-5 overall. Bryan College fell to 10-13 for the season and 5-7 in the league.
Junior outside hitter Kate Daub downed a season-high 24 kills to pace the UVa-Wise attack. Setter Davina Dishner handed out 46 assists and Cara Hamilton dug 33 balls. Tasha Viers and Stacey Ringhoffer chipped in 15 and 14 kills of their own.
The Lady Cavs continue on the road with a 10:30 a.m. match at Covenant College and then wrap up Satuday with a 4:00 p.m. contest at Tennessee Wesleyan College.
