Virginia Intermont Upsets UVa-Wise in AAC First Round

Brevard, NC – In the first round of the Appalachian Athletic Conference women's volleyball playoffs, Virginia Intermont upset the University of Virginia's College at Wise in three straight games. The Cobras swept the contests with game scores of the 23-30, 25-30, 26-30.
The Cavs wrap up their 2005 season at 17-9 but do not have a single senior on the team for 2006. Virginia Intermont had been swept, 3-0, by UVa-Wise in both regular season meetings including the last game of the regular season for UVa-Wise on November 1st.
In the match, Kate Daub pounded 13 kills and Cara Hamilton dug 16 balls. Davina Dishner had 20 assists and Krista Shelton added 13 assists. |
