King Hands Lady Cavs First AAC Defeat of the Season

WISE, VA -­ The opponent doesn't get any tougher than the defending Appalachian Athletic Conference champions, King College Lady Tornados. King was able to prevail over UVa-Wise to hand the Lady Cavs their first league defeat of the year by the tally of 3-1 with scores of 21-30, 30-26, 21-30, 27-30.

The Lady Cavs fall to 2-2 and 0-1 in the AAC while King improves to 2-0 both overall and in the conference.

Frontline hitters Kate Daub and Tasha Viers paced the attack with 12 kills apiece while Kristen Salyer added 10. Davina Dishner assisted on 47 kills and dug seven balls. Brittney Lawson dug 16 balls while Krista Shelton and Cara Hamilton chipped in 12 and 11 digs. Stacey Ringhoffer blocked two spikes while downing eight kills.

UVa-Wise returns to action next Tuesday when they travel to Bristol, VA to face Virginia Intermont.
