Brevard Edges Past Lady Cavs in Three

Brevard, NC – In a match of two of the NAIA Region XII’s top five teams, host Brevard College was able to edge past the University of Virginia’s College at Wise women’s volleyball team in three straight games. The Lady Tornados took the match by scores of 30-28, 30-26 and 30-24.
Brevard, the fourth rated team in the region, took its season mark to 6-1 and 4-1 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference. The fifth ranked team, UVa-Wise fell to 5-3 and 3-2 in the league.
The trio of Tasha Viers, Kate Daub and Kristen Salyer lined 12 kills apiece. Daube added 11 digs and Cara Hamilton 12 digs of her own. Setter Davina Dishner handed out 41 assists and dug 19 balls.
The Lady Cavs will next host Mountain State Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. before taking off until Friday, September 23rd. The team will host Bryan College, Friday night before hosting Tennessee Wesleyan (10:30 a.m.) and Covenant College (4:00 p.m.) on Saturday.
