Cobras Bite Lady Cavs in Three Close Volleyball Games

Wise, VA -- On a rainy dreary night, the action in UVA-Wise's Greear Gym was intense on the volleyball court. The visiting Virginia Intermont Cobras won three close games to defeat the Lady Cavs on Friday evening by scores of 30-18, 35-33 and 33-31.

Virginia Intermont improved to 7-2 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference and 10-11 on the year. UVA-Wise goes to 3-6 in the league and 7-10 on the season.

Natasha Viers downed 18 kills with one error in 32 attacks for a .531 hitting percentage for UVA-Wise. She added 11 digs, a block and one ace. Stacey Ringhoffer added 11 kills and five blocks while Kate Daub chipped in 10 kills, 12 digs and three blocks. Leeza Dos Santos handed out 21 assists.

The Lady Cavs will next the King College Tornados next Tuesday night starting at 6:30 p.m.
