Va. Intermont Ends the UVA-Wise Volleyball Season for 2nd Year

Bristol, TN – For the second time in as many years, the UVA-Wise women’s volleyball season ended at the hands of Virginia Intermont. After a Lady Cobras upset last year, the Lady Cavs could not duplicate the task to fall, 3-0 in the opening round of the Appalachian Athletic Conference playoffs.
UVA-Wise lost the match by game scores of 18-30, 22-30 and 23-30. The Lady Cavs finish 11-17 for the 2006 season under first year head coach Steve Dallman.
In the match, Kate Daub downed eight kills to lead the frontline. Emily Helms added six kills while Stacey Ringhoffer contributed four kills and four blocks. Cara Hamilton handed out 21 assists and Britney Lawson dug 10 balls.
