Seniors Daub and Ringhoffer Pace UVa-Wise Spikers Over Bluefield in Finale

Wise, VA -- Seniors Kate Daub and Stacey Ringhoffer paced UVA-Wise over Bluefield in the women's volleyball regular season finale. The duo combined for 33 kills, 16 digs and three blocks as the Lady Cavs took care of the Lady Rams, 3-1, with games of 30-19, 30-17, 25-30 and 32-30.

The victory breaks a three-game losing streak with the UVA-Wise win in the Appalachian Athletic Conference match. The Lady Cavs improve to 11-16 and 7-11 in the league. Bluefield fell to 10-24 and 1-17 in the conference.

Daub (Williamsburg, VA/Lafayette) pounded a team-high 19 kills, hit .310, dug 16 balls and line one aces. Ringhoffer (Richlands, VA) had a solid effort in her last home match with 14 kills and three solo blocks. Kristen Salyer produced 18 kills and nine digs while her former Gate City high teammate Emily Helms contributed 16 kills, hit .333 and served three aces. Whitney Lane (Norton, VA) chipped in 10 kills while both Britney Lawson (Rye Cove, VA) and Leeza Dos Santos (Virginia Beach, VA/Ocean Lakes) had 13 digs apiece. Cara Hamilton (Gate City, VA) handed out 65 assists while adding eight digs and one service ace.

UVA-Wise will now have a week off before the first night of the AAC volleyball playoffs held at King College starting next Friday evening.
