King Sweeps Past UVA-Wise

Bristol, TN -- The 2006 Lady Cavs saw their first Appalachian Athletic Conference action of the year but had a tough time against the preseason favorite Tornado. After dropping the opening two games, 22-30 and 24-30, UVA-Wise led the majority of the third game before King stormed back to complete the sweep, 27-30.

Senior Kate Daub paced the Lady Cavs (2-2/0-1 AAC) with 11 kills and eight digs. Tasha Viers and Kristen Salyer chipped in eight and seven kills against King (4-0/3-0 AAC). Davina Dishner handed out 31 assists while Britney Lawson dug eight balls and Emily Helms lined three aces on the night.

The Lady Cavs travel north to the Washington & Lee Classic for a pair of games on Friday night and Saturday afternoon. UVA-Wise will take on Averett College at 6:00 p.m. and McDaniel starting at 8:00 p.m. Friday evening.
