Lexington, VA -- Playing back-to-back matches is never easy and Friday night was no exception for the Lady Cavs. UVA-Wise dropped a pair of four games matches to talented Averett, 3-1, and McDaniel, 3-1.

The Lady Cavs (2-4) took the first game, 30-26, and was up 28-25 in the second before Averett (8-1) rattled off five straight points to win the contest, 30-28, and take all of the match momentum. Averett claimed what would be the last two games 23-30 and 22-30.

Tasha Viers downed 14 kills and a block while Kate Daub had 12 kills. Davina Dishner posted 45 assists with 15 digs while Britney Lawson added 23 digs.

In the second match, McDaniel claimed the first two games, 26-30 and 20-30, before UVA-Wise won the third, 30-25. McDaniel clinched the win with a 26-30 game four score.

Viers recorded 13 kills and Kristen Salyer nine against McDaniel. Dishner chipped in 42 assists and 17 digs while Lawson had 12 digs.

The Lady Cavs will round out their three-straight days of action with a 10:30 a.m. match vs. Southern Virginia and a 3:30 p.m. bout with host Washington & Lee of the second day of the Classic.
