Hamilton Earns NAIA & AAC Volleyball Honor

Wise, VA – Due to an injury to the starting setter, UVA-Wise’s Cara Hamilton stepped into the role and was rewarded for her outstanding play last week as the NAIA Region XII and Appalachian Athletic Conference “Setter of the Week.”
The junior helped the Lady Cavs split their final two regular season matches in a defeat to Virginia Intermont, 3-0, before taking Bluefield College, 3-1. UVA-Wise will match skill on the volleyball court for a third time this season on Friday at 12noon taking place at King College.
Hamilton from Gate City, VA handed out 102 set assists in seven games for a 14.57 assist per game average. The third-year player had a career-best 65 assists in the win over Bluefield. She added 14 digs, three services aces and one kill for the two matches.
