Lady Cavs Look Sharp in Scrimmage Against Wasps

Emory, VA – In the first action under new head coach Steve Dallman, the Lady Cavs looked sharp against the Wasps on Saturday. UVa-Wise lost a close first game, 28-30, before rattling off three-straight wins, 30-17, 31-29, and 30-19 for the 3-1 match victory.
The Lady Cavs will begin their 2006 regular season on Tuesday night, August 29th for a 7:00 p.m. match at Mountain State (WV).
Against Emory & Henry, Tasha Viers downed 18 kills, nine digs and three blocks to pace the attack. Kristen Salyer added 12 kills, seven digs and three blocks. Stacy Ringhoffer was the other double digit kill player with 10 to go with a solid six blocks in the middle. Kate Daub contributed eight kills, 11 digs and three blocks.
Defensive specialist Brittney Lawson dug 27 balls
and Cara Hamilton produced 14 digs. Leeza Dos Santos had 10 digs to round out the defense. Davina Dishner handed out 39 set assists and Dos Santos had 14. |
