Viers Selected NAIA Region XII Volleyball First Team for Second Time

Wise, VA – For the second time in two years, Natasha Viers was selected for the NAIA Region XII first team announced this week. The junior added the honor after receiving her second All-Appalachian Athletic Conference first team status recently.
Viers from Abingdon, VA earned the same NAIA Region XII and AAC first team acclaim for her sophomore season. The outside hitter was selected NAIA Region XII and AAC Player of the Week two times for the 2006 season. She led the Lady Cavs (11-17) with 327 kills, 3.94 kills per game and hit .313 for the season. The Abingdon High player added 65 blocks, 178 digs, 24 service aces and 12 set assists. She had three matches with over 20 kills with her best game of 29 kills and one error in 41 total attack for a .683 hitting percentage with 11 digs against Union College. Viers also had a top evening of 27 kills, hit .380, 24 digs and two aces versus Tennessee Wesleyan.
The third-year team member received Academic All-AAC honors as well for her work in the classroom where she is a health & physical education major.
