Lady Cavs Dominate Ferrum at E&H Tourney

Emory, VA – UVa-Wise put together its best outing in the early 2007 volleyball season to open its run in the Emory & Henry Tournament on Friday afternoon. The Lady Cavs dominated the Ferrum College Lady Panthers in three-straight games, 30-19, 30-18 and 30-13.

Natasha Viers paced the UVa-Wise (2-2) attack with 13 kills, hit .375 and blocked eight attempts. Whittney Lane added nine kills, hit .467 and had four blocks. Kristen Salyer chipped in nine kills of her own as she hit .444 with 12 digs, three blocks and an ace. Britney Lawson dug 18 balls and Ruth Hoover had three kills, three digs and four blocks. Freshman Sam Puryea handed out 34 assists to go with five kills, four blocks and an ace. Leeza Dos Santos rounded out the honors with three service aces and seven digs.

The Lady Cavs will next face Chowan College Friday evening starting at 6:30 p.m.
