Lawson Picked NAIA National Libero of the Week

October 3, 2007

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Shena Beheler and Kaylin Austen of Mount Vernon Nazarene (Ohio.) and Britney Lawson of Virginia-Wise have been selected as the NAIA Volleyball Player, Setter and Libero of the Week respectively for the week ending Sunday, September 30, 2007.

Beheler, a senior middle blocker from Butler, Ohio, helped Mount Vernon Nazarene to four wins last week.  She averaged 6.0 kills and 3.31 digs per game while recording 0.485 kill percentage and 10 solo blocks during the week.  Beheler posted a triple-double with 20 kills, 13 digs and 10 blocks in the victory at Cedarville.  She also had 21 kills, 14 digs and eight blocks against Ohio Dominican and 18 kills, 10 digs and nine blocks against Daemen last week.

Austen, a sophomore setter from Shelby, Ohio, averaged 14.0 assists in four wins for Mount Vernon Nazarene last week.  She handed out a career-high 57 assists in the win at Cedarville.  Austen also recorded 51 assists and 11 digs against Ohio Dominican.

Lawson, a junior defensive specialist from Rye Cove, Va., helped Virginia-Wise to two wins last week while averaging 11.33 digs per game.  On the season she leads the team with 6.3 digs per game.  Lawson has appeared in 76 games this year and recorded 482 digs.
