Salyer Donned AAC Volleyball Player of the Week

Wise, Va. – After making it to the Emory & Henry Tournament championship match, junior Kristen Salyer was donned the Appalachian Athletic Conference volleyball Player of the Week for her solid play for UVa-Wise.
Salyer led the Lady Cavs (3-4) to the Emory & Henry Championship match where the team fell 3-0 to Southern Virginia, who went undefeated in the two day event. The Gate City product downed 40 kills, 37 digs, four aces and nine blocks in 13 games of four matches during the tournament.
For the week, the 5-10 outside hitter pounded 51 kills, hit .226, had one set assist, dug 57 balls, lined five aces and accounted for a total of 11 blocks.
UVa-Wise will have its home and AAC opener on Tuesday night starting at 6:30 p.m. against Milligan College.
