Texas-Brownsville Defeats UVa-Wise to End NAIA Nationals Run

Columbia, Mo. – The first NAIA National Championships trip is a big experience of play on an all new level. This turned out to be very true for UVa-Wise as its season was ended early this evening by Texas-Brownsville in three games.

The Lady Cavs (25-16) dropped the three-game match to the Scorpions (35-8) by scores of 20-30, 23-30 and 13-30.

Tasha Viers led UVa-Wise with 12 kills, two aces and two digs. Kristen Salyer added nine kills and six digs. Britney Lawson dug 10 balls. Sam Puryea handed out 26 assists, dug 10 balls and lined an ace. Cara Hamilton chipped in five digs.
