UVa-Wise Completes AAC Volleyball Season with Sweep

Wise, Va. – The University of Virginia’s College at Wise completed its Appalachian Athletic Conference women’s volleyball season with 3-0 sweep of Virginia Intermont.

The Lady Cavs improved to 19-11 on the season by taking the Lady Cobras (10-26) 30-28, 30-20 and 30-20. UVa-Wise completes its league season at 13-5 for a fourth place finish in the regular season.

Tasha Viers paced the UVa-Wise hitters. She hit 15 kills, hit .333, dug five balls and had three blocks. Kristen Salyer chipped in 11 kills, 11 digs and three aces. Whittney Lane produced nine kills, four blocks, two assists and two digs. Sam Puryea handed out 44 assists, dug 10 balls and lined two aces. Britney Lawson and Leeza Dos Santos led the defense with 22 and 15 digs.

UVa-Wise will complete its regular season by hosting Pikeville College on Monday night for a 6:30 p.m. match.
