The NEW UVa-Wise CAVScard

The new CAVScard office in the College Mailroom in the UVa-Wise Student Center 4th floor.

The CAVScard is your official College identification.  The card is valid only when the bearer is a UVa-Wise registered student and/or employee. This card is to be used only for identification purposes and to access authorized campus services and/or facilities. 

Now, students, faculty and staff can register and login to our UVa-Wise ManageMyID web site at https://uvawise.managemyid.com/ and add funds to their CAVScard accounts (web-screen pictured below). The accounts available are Declining Balance and Dining Dollars.

How do I add funds to my CAVScard?


Students and their parents can also add funds to their student’s cards using the ManageMyID web site.  They will need to know their students ID number to login and add funds.  There is a $2 processing fee charge for each deposit made online.You can also use the Value Port terminal on the 4th floor of the Student Center (pictured right) to add funds to your CAVScard declining balance account for laundry, bookstore purchases food, and postage.  There is no charge for Value Port deposits to your CAVScard.


Can I withdraw cash from my CAVSCard?

No, cash cannot be withdrawn from this card.


Are there any fees for using the CAVSCard?

The only fees involved with the CAVSCard are in making a deposit and obtaining a refund. There is a $2 processing fee for each deposit made online, in person, by mail or over the phone. In addition there is a $10 processing fee for account refunds.  There is no fee for cash depositing funds via Value Port terminal on the 4th Floor of the Student Center.

How can I get a refund of my CAVSCard account balance?

To request a refund, simply email ks3c@uvawise.edu with your name, ID number, and current address. Also include your reason for requesting a refund(recent graduation, termination of enrollment, etc.) Please be advised that there is a $10 processing fee for all refunds. Refunds can only be processed for account with a balance of $20 or more. You will have 60 days to request a refund after leaving.

 

What are the difference between Declining Balance and Dining Dollars?

Declining Balance:  Offers the most flexibility.  Funds in this account can be used anywhere the CAVScard is accepted.  Current locations are all food service locations including concession stands, bookstore, laundry vending, and the campus post office.

Dining Dollars:  Funds in this account can be used at all food service locations including concession stands.  The advantage to this account is Chartwells, our dining services provider, will offer promotions to add more value to you money.

NEED TO REPORT A STOLEN OR MISSING CARD??

Register and login to our ManageMyID web site at https://uvawise.managemyid.com/and report the card missing.  This will immediately disable the card rendering it useless for campus dining and all campus declining balance usage (bookstore, laundry, etc.).

PLEASE NOTE:  Please value your card as you would your driver’s license or credit card.  A $15.00 fee will be charged for replacement of this card if it is lost or damaged.

Lending of this card or failure to present it upon request by a College official is a violation of College policy.  The fraudulent possession of another person’s card may result in the confiscation of the card and/or College disciplinary action.

Changes to the CAVScard terms and conditions will apply to all cards and supersede those in effect at the time the card was issued.  For the latest CAVScard terms and conditions please see www.uvawise.edu/cavscard online.
