Children invited to FUNTASIA at UVa-Wise Sept. 24

Children of all ages are invited to a day filled with games, prizes, food, and fun during FUNTASIA at The University of Virginia’s College at Wise on Saturday, Sept. 24.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m. in the Betty J. Gilliam Sculpture Garden located on the upper campus. Admission is free. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Children can meet a host of their favorite characters including Blue from Blue's Clues, Woody and Buzz Lightyear, Strawberry Shortcake, and various Star Wars characters.

Tickets for individual games and hands-on activities and crafts are 50 cents. Pizza, popcorn, and other food items will be available.

FUNTASIA is presented by Students of Virginia Education Association (SVEA) at UVa-Wise. Money collected during FUNTASIA will be used to buy coats, clothes, and toys for SVEA’s annual Christmas drive for needy children.
