Holiday Festival with the Arts set for Dec. 3-11 at UVa-Wise
The community is invited to celebrate the holiday season along with faculty, staff and students at The University of Virginia’s College at Wise during the Holiday Festival with the Arts Dec. 3-11.

Sponsored by the UVa-Wise Department of Visual and Performing Arts, the Holiday Festival with the Arts began as a way to showcase the talents of UVa-Wise faculty, staff and students. This year’s festival features a variety of musical performances and a student art exhibit, which will be on display on the fifth floor of the C. Bascom Slemp Student Center beginning Dec. 3.
All events are free and open to the public. A complete schedule of events follows:
Monday, December 3
• A holiday concert featuring the UVa-Wise Chorale Choir at 1 p.m. in the Chapel.
• The Highland Winds will perform at J.I. Burton High School at 7 p.m.
• A jazz dance performance will take place at the Theatre Center at 7:30 p.m.
• Student art will be on exhibit on the fifth floor of the C. Bascom Slemp Student Center through Dec. 11.
Tuesday, December 4
• A student recital featuring applied music students will take place at 3 p.m. in the Chapel.
• The UVa-Wise Concert Choir and the Highland Chorale will feature Gerald Finizi’s “Magnificat” during a 7 p.m. performance at the Norton Church of God.
Wednesday, December 5
• The Wise Guys will perform at the lighting of the College Christmas tree in the C. Bascom Slemp Student Center at 1 p.m.
• The UVa-Wise Chamber music ensembles, including the Wise Guys brass ensemble will perform at 7 p.m. in the Chapel.
Thursday, December 6
• A reception and Gallery Talk for the Student Art Exhibit will be held on the fifth floor of the C. Bascom Slemp Student Center beginning at 5 p.m.
Tuesday, December 11
• The UVa-Wise Concert Choir and the Highland Chorale will feature Gerald Finizi’s “Magnificat” during a 7 p.m. performance at the Wise Baptist Church.
