Constitutional scholar to speak at UVa-Wise Oct. 29

Jeffry Morrison, a distinguished scholar of American Constitutionalism, will discuss “The Constitutional Thought of George Washington” during a presentation at The University of Virginia’s College at Wise on Friday, Oct. 29.

The lecture, which is free and open to the public, begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Chapel of All Faiths.

Morrison, an associate professor of government at Regent University, is currently completing his book, The Political Philosophy of George Washington for Johns Hopkins University Press. He is the author of John Witherspoon and the American Republic and co-editor of The Founders on Church and State.

Morrison has taught early American political theory at Princeton University, Georgetown University, the United States Air Force Academy, and Oxford University.
