UVa-Wise invites public to help decorate holiday tree in honor of military

The University of Virginia’s College at Wise invites the community to help decorate the campus Christmas tree with ornaments that reflect the theme “Remembering our Troops.”

Individuals and community organizations are invited to use ribbons, photos, and other items to create ornaments for the tree. Ornaments should be suitable for outside display.

Ornaments should be submitted to Ronnie Welch in the C. Bascom Slemp Student Center by Friday, Dec. 3. Items can be delivered to the C. Bascom Student Center or mailed to Welch at 1 College Avenue, Wise, VA 24293.

The public is invited to a tree lighting ceremony at 6 p.m. on Dec. 7. The large pine tree is located near the main entrance to the UVa-Wise Theatre. A reception will follow at the Lila Vicars Smith House, the chancellor’s residence.
