Mike Wiley
to present “One Noble Journey UVa-Wise Monday, April
26

Mike Wiley, a
talented actor who dramatizes the lives of African-Americans
as part of an education series, will present “One
Noble Journey” at The University of Virginia’s
College at Wise on Monday, April 26.
The event, which is free and open to the public, begins
at 6 p.m. on the fifth floor of the C. Bascom Slemp Student
Center.
The one-man play is based on the true stories of three slaves
who overcame incredible obstacles to obtain their freedom.
The performance concludes with Wiley portraying Henry “Box”
Brown, a Virginia slave who decided his only route to freedom
was to mail himself to Philadelphia in a wooden shipping
crate.
The event is sponsored by the Black History Month Committee
and the Office of Student Life and Leadership. For more
