Congratulations Class of 2007!
You’ve almost made it. In May, you’ll join more than 7,600 other UVa-Wise alumni as members of the Alumni Association.
The Alumni Association celebrates your accomplishment and hopes you will always maintain a strong tie to your alma mater through involvement with the Alumni Association. Also, one of your classmates will be selected to serve a one-year term on the Alumni Board. If you have an interest in doing this, please contact the Alumni Director. The Alumni Association Board of Directors consists of nearly 40 dedicated alumni that live throughout Virginia and Tennessee. They meet on-campus about eight times per year to discuss issues of interest to the development of the College. We want you to be a very active alumni volunteer so let us know what interests you.
A Special Message from the Alumni Association President
 Congratulations to the Class of 2007! The Alumni Board of Directors
looks forward to formally installing you into the Alumni Association
during the Commencement ceremony. Your class will bring our total
alumni to nearly 7,900.
The goal of the Alumni Association is to strengthen The University of
Virginia's College at Wise through the involvement of alumni. We
offer many services and activities that benefit you and the College.
We encourage you to keep your address and other information updated

We wish you much success and look forward to maintaining a lifelong
relationship with you. We hope to see you at Alumni-Homecoming

Alumni Association
Alumni Events & Scholarship Funds
The Alumni Association hosts several events and activities which we hope will be of interest to you. Some of them include:
- Golf Tournaments to raise funds for the Association and the Athletics Department
- Football Tailgate Parties
- Assistance in Alumni Sporting Games
- Regional Alumni Meetings throughout Virginia, Tennessee and North Carolina
- Student-Alumni Picnics
- Cavalier Alumni $elebration Gala– 21st Annual event will be held May 12, 2007
- Come Home this fall for Alumni Homecoming Weekend - Sept. 20-22, 2007
- Also, once you graduate, you’ll be able to purchase a season parking pass through the Alumni Association for the Upper Parking Lot for the Home Football Games.
The Alumni Association also provides funds for three different scholarships:
- Miners’ Family Scholarship (Five $1,000 Scholarships per year)
- Theo Gibson & Elizabeth Fugate Scholarship (Four $500 Scholarships per year)
- Scott County/Kingsport Alumni Scholarship (One $500 Scholarship per year)
Commencement Weekend 2007
Commencement Weekend is a blast! Don’t Miss Any of the Fun!
The Alumni Association will host a BIG Senior Send-Off on Thursday, May 17, beginning at 11:30 a.m. at the football stadium. Attend to win COOL prizes!
The Alumni Association will co-sponsor the Annual Alumni Reception for seniors and their guests on Friday evening, May 18.
The Alumni President will officially induct you into the Alumni Association during Commencement ceremonies on May 19, at 11 a.m. at Smith Stadium. We hope you will invite all of your family and friends to be with us on this special day for this memorable occasion!

Remember that once you graduate, we hope you will keep in touch with the Alumni Office. We will be your link to the College, your former friends, and your favorite professors and staff members.
