Instructions for the Academic Procession

Time and place of formation

Graduates, Bag Piper, Gonfalon and Flag Bearers, Poor Farm Mace Bearer, Grand Marshal

9:45 a.m. - Carl Smith Stadium

10:15 a.m. - Line up at the stadium according to degree and seating instructions provided by Grand Marshal

10:50 a.m. - Processional begins

Faculty

10:15 a.m. - Carl Smith Stadium, Locker Room (Instructions provided by Faculty Marshals)

10:50 a.m. - Ready to march behind students

College Board, Platform Party, Cabinet

10:15 a.m. - Carl Smith Stadium

10:50 a.m. - Ready to march behind faculty

Order of March

          1. Flag Bearers, Gonfalon and Grand Marshal

          2. Graduates: Seated in a reserved section near the front of the seating area.

          3. Faculty: Seated in a reserved section.

          4. College Board, Cabinet: Seated to the rear of the faculty.

          5. Platform Party: Seated on the stage

Position of Tassel on Caps

Graduates

Graduates should wear their tassels on the right side. They will then move their tassels to the left upon the Chancellor's pronouncement conferring their degrees.

All others

All other non-graduating individuals participating in the processional and wearting academic regalia should wear their tassels on the left side.
