Commencement : Alumni Association Information
Congratulations Class of 2013
You’ve almost made it. In May, you’ll join nearly 9,000 UVa-Wise alumni as members of the UVa-Wise Alumni Association.
The Alumni Association celebrates your accomplishment and hopes you will always maintain a strong tie to your alma mater through involvement with the Association. One of your classmates will be selected to serve a one-year term on the Alumni Board. If you have an interest in doing this, please contact the Alumni Relations Office at alumni@uvawise.edu. The Alumni Association Board of Directors consists of 40 dedicated alumni. The board meets eight times per year to discuss issues of interest to the development of the College and to raise funds for alumni and student activities.
Alumni Events & Scholarship Funds
The Alumni Association hosts several events and activities annually. Some of them include:
- Spring Swing Golf Tournament
- Super Raffle - a 50/50 drawing
- Annual Cavalier Alumni $elebration
- Regional alumni club events
- Student-Alumni Picnic
- Welcome Week activities
- Homecoming--Football, Basketball
- Senior Tailgate Party
The Alumni Association also provides funds for three different scholarships:
- Miners’ Family Scholarship
- Theodore W. Gibson & Elizabeth Fugate Scholarship
- Scott County/Kingsport Alumni Scholarship
