Completed in 1972 and named for Chancellor Emeritus Joe Smiddy, Smiddy Hall saw a major physical transformation. The Smiddy Hall renovation brought the systems in the building up to date, addressed accessibility issues and resulted in the construction of new classrooms and faculty offices. The exterior is a focal point to the entrance of the campus.

Before the Smiddy Hall renovation started, a new IT facility was built to house the College's information technology offices. The IT facility is an addition to Smiddy Hall and houses the College's IT offices, the server room and equipment repair.
