Alert Notification Methods at UVa-Wise
Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with these methods and make sure to take any notification from Campus Police or College personnel seriously.
#1 – UVa-Wise Emergency Siren – The College has an emergency siren that will sound in the event of a campus emergency. Please listen to the siren and the following loudspeaker announcement from College Police.
#2 – UVa-Wise Electronic Mail – College email is one of the first places to look for alert notifications and instructions on what to do in the event of an emergency.
#3 – UVa-Wise Emergency Alert System – The emergency alert system is a communication method that we STRONGLY urge all campus community members to use. PLEASE, sign up online by going online to home.uvawise.edu/alertsystem and logging in with your email username and password (without @uvawise.edu) and filling in the fields as requested. You can sign up for phone alerts and/or text messaging alerts. Please note that updates to the emergency alert system take 24-hours to update so please update as soon as possible to insure you get campus emergency alerts.
YOU MUST SIGN UP FOR THE EMERGENCY ALERT SERVICE EACH YEAR TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT. ONCE AGAIN, PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT TO VISIT home.uvawise.edu/alertsystem and login with your email username and password (without @uvawise.edu) to sign up for this important service to our students, faculty and staff.
#4 – UVa-Wise web site – Emergency notifications and additional information will be posted on the UVa-Wise main web site at www.uvawise.edu.
