Coordinator of Intramurals & Recreation
The UVa-Wise Division of Student Affairs invites applications for a Coordinator of Intramurals & Recreation (COIR) from those who have an appreciation for the unique attributes afforded them by a small liberal arts college in rural SW Virginia.
The COIR is a full-time, twelve-month University staff employee who reports directly to the Associate Director of the C. Bascom Slemp Student Center. The COIR will coordinate all aspects of Intramural single day & weekly sports including scheduling, supervision of student workers and maintaining participation records, as well as serving as advisor to the Intramural Advisory Council with Campus Recreation initiatives including staff supervision rotations for both Intramurals and Outdoor Recreation, program advertising efforts and coordinating student workers. The COIR will assist with/attend various College leadership initiatives including Orientation and Open House programs. The COIR will also assist with the Summer Conferences program. The COIR will share responsibility for the CAVS Card ID system and other Student Center activities. The position will require both evening and weekend work.
Qualifications: The successful candidate will be an energetic, student-centered, innovative, and dedicated professional with excellent computer, organization, and time-management skills; exhibit flexibility in management style and practice; demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills; and possess the ability to work independently or as part of a team. A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required and intramurals, recreation and/or student life experience is preferred.
Compensation: Salary plus a full benefits package, including health insurance and retirement.
