International Student Leadership Conference (ISLC)

 

The Multi Cultural Alliance has attended the International Student Leadership Conference which was hosted by James Madison University and Eastern Mennonite University during the weekend of March 22-27, 2007. The theme of the conference for this year wasTransforming cultural experiences into leadership opportunities”.

The conference involved in outstand speakers such as Salorne McDonald and Darla Dear doff from Duke University, delivered keynote addresses on topics of intercultural communication. This introduction to intercultural communication issues attempted to give the participants an overview of various communication styles, culture models and reasons for problems and misunderstandings when dealing with people from different backgrounds.

  Through the outstand ISLC conference members of MCA were able to learn more about themselves, meet new people and have fun at the same time. The Multi-cultural Alliance is looking forward to attend 8th Annual International Student Leadership Conference which will be held on March 28- March 30.
