Computer Logon Accounts
(faculty, staff, and students)

• All computer users at UVa-Wise must have a logon account to use any computer (including lab computers).  If you have forgotten the password to access your UVa-Wise computer logon account (active directory/domain), simply visit the Helpdesk Technician. You will be issued a new password which will become effective immediately.
• You will need a photo ID for this service.

E-Mail Accounts
(faculty, staff, and students)

• If you need a UVa-Wise E-Mail account or have forgotten the password to access your UVa-Wise email account, simply visit the Helpdesk Technician. Here, you will be issued a temporary password so that you may log onto your account.
• You will need a photo ID for this service.

Blackboard Accounts
(students)

• Blackboard is the College's online learning software.  The Helpdesk Technician can help you set up and organize your Blackboard account, add classes, or print off documents. The HDT will also assist you if you have forgotten your password.

• The Help Desk Technician will help you set up and organize your Blackboard courses. From having courses created to recycling old courses, the HDT will assist you every step of the way.

Student Information Portal
(students)

• The Student Information Portal allows students to check grades, view schedules, view bills, financial aid information, etc.  The Helpdesk technician will assist you in logging on to the Student Portal. Our technicians will not, however, ask for your personal identification information.

• Many various mailing lists (list servs) are available for faculty, staff, students, and organizations to subscribe.

Symantec Antivirus for Students
(students)

• OIT has licensed copies of Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition for all students (residential and commuter) of the College.
