Student Government Association
On behalf of The University of Virginia's College at Wise Student Government Association and SGA President Dakota Ray Hill, we would like to thank you for visiting our website.
Be sure to explore the links to our Executive Board and Senate, including links to our email addresses. As your elected representatives, we love to correspond and interact with the students who elected us to our respective positions. Our offices are located on the third floor of the C. Bascom Slemp Student Center in the Student Leadership Wing, and office hours are posted there.
You will find a number of other links (at left) that provide you with additional information about SGA news and resources, including committees, meeting minutes, voting records, upcoming events, and more.
Also, be sure to check out the links to our social media accounts, as we are constantly updating while we plan, set-up, and carry-out most of our events. It's important to check back on our website often for updates on new legislation coming before the Senate for debate, as well as new additions to our events calendar.
The Student Government Association represents the student body in matters affecting student life and affairs of the College, promotes and supervises student organizations and activities, and promotes improvement of community conditions. All students enrolled for six or more semester hours are voting members of the SGA.
The branches of the SGA include elected executive board officers, senators representing each class, and at-large senators. An international senator, and president's cabinet (elections commissioner, historian, parliamentarian and public relations chair) are appointed by the SGA president.
The SGA constitution is available [here].
