The mission of the Office of Student Activities at UVa-Wise is to support and complement the College’s academic mission and enhance the educational experience of students through exposure to programs and activities that promote intellectual, cultural, social, recreational, and personal growth.  The Office of Student Activities is committed to providing leadership opportunities and sponsoring and supporting programs which enhance a sense of community on campus, foster recognition and appreciation of different cultures, and facilitate and nurture a collective sense of purpose.  We strive to assist students in developing an appreciation for diversity, accountability for self learning, and the critical thinking and pragmatic skills necessary to become life long learners and knowledgeable and responsible citizens of our global community.

The Student Activities Board (SAB) is comprised of a group of students who plan and host student activities events on campus. Events range from hypnotists and comedians, to musicians and novelty programs, including Massage Days, Make Your Own Street Sign, Free Sundaes, and more. Each semester, a student activities calendar is published and distributed to all students detailing events sponsored by the Office of Student Activities, Outdoor Recreation, Greek Life, Leadership, Student Government Association, Intramurals and other clubs, organizations, and departments across campus.
