Threat Assessment

ABOUT
In accordance with requirements outlined in the Code of Virginia (23-9.2:10), UVa-Wise has established a Threat Assessment Team for education and the prevention of violence on its campus.


MISSION
The mission of the Threat Assessment Team (TAT) at UVa-Wise is to assess and to intervene regarding any student whose behavior may potentially pose a threat to self, others, or the campus community. The team will plan and respond to potential threats or any act of violence in an attempt to prevent a critical incident and to maintain the safety of those involved as well as the safety of the campus community.

In the event of any campus emergency, you may contact Campus Police at 276-328-COPS (2677) during regular business hours (8 am-5 pm, M-F) or 911 twenty-four hours per day, 365 days per year.  In the event that you would also like consultation regarding individuals, events or other concerns, please contact one of the TAT members above or one of the following offices, each located in Cantrell Hall:
