The University of Virginia’s College at Wise 2016 Governor’s School will be presenting Shakespeare’s comedy Love’s Labor’s Lost as their culminating performance this week. Shows are Thursday, July 7, at 7 p.m., and Friday, July 8, at 3 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend these free performances in the Gilliam Center for the Arts Black Box Theater on campus.
Governor’s School attendees come from a 22 county region in Southwest Virginia, and are chosen by Gifted and Talented Coordinators and theater teachers for their achievements and commitment to theater. The play is one of Shakespeare’s funniest comedies, about a king and his three lords who have sworn off women and worldly things, just when the Princess of France and three of her ladies show up on their doorstep.
Please come enjoy the shows, and support the hard work of this year’s eighteen Governor’s School students.
