The distribution of At Home COVID-19 tests for UVA Wise students is underway as the College prepares to welcome students back to campus for the fall 2020 semester.

The College has set up a system to allow students who live close to campus, about an hour away or less, to come for testing at the David J. Prior Center and at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center in Abingdon beginning on Aug. 12, 13, and 14 from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m.

Students who live outside the region, or those who live closer but prefer to test at home, will receive a test kit in the mail. Test kits should arrive at students’ homes Wednesday or Thursday.

Students who are 17 or younger are considered minors and their tests must be proctored by a licensed health care professional. Minors must have a parent or guardian present during the test.

Students with questions may email for additional information. In addition, information may be found at the Fall 2020 Return to Wise webpage, which also features an extensive FAQ regarding testing and related procedures.

Testing of students prior to their arrival on campus is vital as the College works to stem the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
