Psychology

Overview

The psychology major at UVA Wise is designed for students who are interested in careers where a knowledge of human behavior and mental processes are important. Students who complete their bachelor's degree in psychology are prepared to enter careers in mental health services and are equipped to pursue graduate studies in psychology and related fields.

Courses range from biopsychology, child or adolescent development, abnormal psychology, and cognitive psychology to statistics and methodology for the social sciences. Hands-on learning opportunities include working in the College’s sleep research lab.

Students are encouraged to complete a minor in a discipline approved by their advisor and faculty from the chosen discipline.
