The exhibit, entitled “The Unwritten Histories of Entropie,” was created by Ray Stratton, an art division coordinator and faculty for the Department of Visual & Performing Arts. An artist’s talk and reception are set for Thursday, Aug. 26 at 6 p.m. in Gallery 121 of Gilliam Center for the Arts.

Stratton has been a member of faculty at UVA Wise since 1998. Prior to coming to Wise, he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Arizona State University and his Master of Fine Arts from the Glasgow School of Art in Scotland. His artwork is comprised of handmade paper and prints sewn onto canvas. Stratton describes the exhibit as an exercise in what one controls and of what one lets go. The work speaks to the idea of change or transformation.
