Fraternities and sororities at The University of Virginia’s College at Wise are governed by respective Greek Councils who set recruitment guidelines, plan Greek events, and promote Greek unity across campus. The three national fraternities on campus are governed by the Interfraternity Council, while the three national sororities are governed by the Panhellenic Council.
Greek Judicial Council
The Greek Judicial Council was established to advance the general interests of the Greek community in connection with the welfare of the student body and the College as a whole, and to exercise such judicial controls as might be necessary to accomplish such ends. The Greek Judicial Council hears judicial matters pertaining to Greek organizations as a whole; this organization does not exist to handle individual judicial violations or violations of the UVa-Wise student code of conduct. The Greek Judicial Council consists of one justice that represents each of the fraternities/sororities at UVa-Wise.

The purpose of the IFC is to promote and further the best interests of the fraternity community, its member chapters, and The University of Virginia’s College at Wise. Belonging to a fraternity entails a life-long commitment and encapsulates all parts of a student’s life: academics, leadership, friendship, brotherhood, athletics, community service career exploration and social activities.
