Intramural Sports & Recreational Activities

UVa-Wise has over a dozen intramural sports and campus recreational activities. Whether you’re interested in basketball or bowling, flag football or ultimate Frisbee, we have the perfect intramural activity for you. Students of all skill levels are welcome!

Plus, with both fall and spring intramural sports offerings, as well as single-day intramural events, students have plenty of opportunities to stay active, make new friends, and have a good time all year long.

Outdoor Recreation

Get outside and take advantage of the recreational opportunities afforded by our natural surroundings in southwest Virginia. Membership to the campus Outdoor Recreation Club is open to all students, regardless of skill level, and we schedule recreational activities and events throughout the year. We also have outdoor equipment rentals available for students at no cost, so you can go out and explore the region on your own. Go for a long day hike. Visit the High Knob, Guest River Gorge, and its famous Little Stoney Falls, the Breaks Interstate Park, and the Cumberland Falls of Kentucky. Check out a range of outdoor recreation equipment, including fishing poles and bait, bicycles, rock climbing gear, and camping gear (tents, sleeping bags, portable camp stoves, and lanterns) for all of your adventures in the great outdoors.

Browse the events and registration page to find out about all of the campus and outdoor recreational activities offered at UVa-Wise.
