Professional and Career Development

Professional and Career Development

The career readiness of today’s college graduates is critical for their successful transition into an increasingly competitive workplace.

Why is career planning and professional development important?

Graduate schools and employers want to see applicants who have experience outside the classroom that complements their academic achievements. Extracurricular activities, experiential learning, part-time or summer jobs, and overall career planning make them more competitive candidates. Some students don’t gain experience early enough, if at all. They find themselves at a disadvantage when they apply for jobs or seek higher education. We encourage students and alumni to invest in professional development and career planning sooner rather than later. It’s never too early to prepare for success.

We advise and coach students and alumni regarding their professional and career development. Please visit early and often to polish your professional image.
